MEET PEYTON SMITH
Peyton Smith was born in 2002 to Dani and Matt Smith and grew up as the son of U.S. Air Force officers, making friends around the world. A 2020 graduate of Montpelier Senior High School and student at Saint Michael’s College, he earned the Eagle Scout Award, loved sports, and had a passion for sneaker culture that led to a Make-A-Wish collaboration with Nike designers.
His memory will forever be celebrated by his mom and dad, his brother Keegan, and their beloved Labrador Benny. He will also forever be in the hearts and minds of grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, his Air Force family, and the countless friends he made along the way.
OUR CAUSE
AirPeyton brings people together each September during Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month to celebrate Peyton’s life and raise funds for research. In just a few years, the event has raised over $100,000 in support of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, helping give children battling cancer a second chance at life. Our mission is to keep Peyton’s memory alive, bring hope to families, and extend the impact of this event from our Vermont community to people across the country and the world.
We do what we do so loved ones like Peyton and children like him can not just survive, but thrive and go on to live long, healthy lives as adults.
The 5th Annual AirPeyton Memorial 5k Walk/Run for Pediatric Cancer will be held Sunday, September 14th, 2025, at Montpelier High School (MHS) starting at 11 a.m. All money raised will go to ALEX’S LEMONADE STAND FOUNDATION to support Pediatric Cancer research. Participation is both IN-PERSON or VIRTUAL!
This year, in addition to our spectacular RAFFLE with AMAZING PRIZES, we will also have: Bounce Houses, Lawn Games, Face Painting, and epic FOOD TRUCKS! And of course…. LEMONADE!
This in-person & virtual walk/run, honoring Peyton, has inspired the local community along with friends and family to contribute in numerous ways. When the 4th Annual event concluded, over **$26,000** had been raised for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation! This year, the event looks to increase its partnership with schools throughout the country along with a continued partnership with Norwich University.
This event is being held both in person and virtually wherever you may be in the world. In person registration is at 10:00 with a start time on Sunday, 9/14, of 10:00 at Montpelier High School!
